The Cooling System: The cooling system of a display counter have two essential components:
Condenser- In a display counter, a “condenser” refers to the cooling coil, usually made of copper or aluminium, that is responsible for absorbing heat from the interior of the display counter, allowing the circulating refrigerant to cool the air and maintain the desired temperature for perishable food items displayed within it; essentially, it’s the component that keeps the food cold inside the counter by transferring heat to the outside environment.
Key features of a good condenser:
Material Selection: Copper condensers are preferred as it is an excellent thermal conductor and resistant to corrosion, ensuring that it is durable and provides better heat transfer.
Design: Well-designed condensers with adequate ventilation increase cooling efficiency and reduce energy use.
Evaporator-The evaporator is the workhorse inside the display counter that ensures optimal cooling. Located in the refrigerated space, it receives heat from the surrounding air. As the low-pressure liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator, it evaporates into a gas while receiving heat. This heat exchange process reduces the temperature inside the display counter, keeping perishable items like sweets, bakery goods, or gelato at the perfect temperature.
Key features of an efficient evaporator:
• Material Quality: Copper evaporators provide enhanced cooling performance and reduce the risk of leakage or corrosion.
• Maintenance: Regular cleaning of the evaporator coils helps to maintain unrestricted airflow and consistent cooling.
Together, the condenser and evaporator form the backbone of the cooling system, helps operate the Display counter smoothly. Their high-quality construction, especially with copper, directly impacts the longevity and performance of the refrigeration system.
Both of these components have copper pipes attached to each other, ensuring there is no leakage. Copper pipes work better because it does not corrosion and is rugged compared to an aluminum or MS pipe used in some vendors’ products, such as the prestair system. In aluminium and MS pipes, oxidation and leakage always occur, degrading the whole system’s efficiency.
